I haven't run away!

Happy (belated!) New Year!
It's just been a busy week around here
(see my other blog to catch up!)

Today...
is my day off.
I started back in the craft room---
and managed to unload one or two boxes that needed sorting.
I had made a path in there
and have enjoyed going in after dinner
with nice low light
and my new dvd/cd player
and doing some yoga.
Back (?) issues have hindered
but hopefully on the mend in that regard.
I took a time out this am
ran my on-island errands
and came back and did my
and yes, because I have been flying most days---
I did it in ONE HOUR!
Now I am off to run one more errand
and to declutter the car-
you know
the old drink cups, wrappers
the jar I accidentally broke--
the odds and ends that don't get thrown out
carried in
put away...
it, too, will take-you guessed it-
15 minutes or less!
Tonight
is my office after holiday party
(Christmas schedules are so chaotic last year we opted
to celebrated after it was all over!)
and tomorrow
I am going shopping-
if I am lucky, Theresa will go with me!
So---set that timer
and start your HOME BLESSING HOUR...
ready-set-FLY!
Until next time,
Blessings,

45 Minutes and FOCUSED!

First thing this morning...
I decided to fold the laundry
that I left in the dryer yesterday...
I had help...

That Bad Cat!
Glad that was an old sheet I use for cats anyway!
I put in another load of wash
and decided to begin
crisis cleaning the craft room
Inky sureys the scene...
you HE can't even get in the door it's
that bad!

I grabbed the timer
KNOWING
I needed it to keep me on track and focused...
it works!
Here's the proof...

I was on a roll!
Reset that baby and GO!

I managed to clean off one other surface-
move some things that needed to go into another room...
fill up 1/2 of a large black trash bag as well as the top of this cabinet
in 15 minutes!
And take a few cute photos...

He did find a place to sit afterall...
a bird's eye view!

so---
see what you can accomplish in just a few minutes?
Particularly if you play beat that timer
and STAY FOCUSED?!
Go me!
Ok. Break over.
Had a cup of coffee
battled blogger twice and won
now it's back to it!
Stay tuned!

Until next time,
Fly, Baby, Fly!
Blessings,

Set that timer!

Flylady says
"You can do anything for 15 minutes at a time!"
and--she's right!
I used to think
(first mistake! lol!)
that I knew better-I didn't need a timer...
but then I often found myself
starting one project---
seeing something else that needed doing
and, before I knew it,
I was off on three or four or more tangents
getting nothing completed!
Enter the timer.
I set it for 15 minutes.
and I would stay focused!
At the end I had a choice:
I could take a break
(which Flylady advocates!)
or reset it.
Depending on how big the project was
(her other advice is
don't take out/take on more than you can do in one hour)
I would pick and choose what to do next.
Sometimes it's go into another room and work for 15 minutes (or more)
and come back to the first project
or put my feet up and blog hop for a few minutes.
Yesterday,
for example,
I tackled the dreaded desk drawers with my filing.
A system that was simply open the drawer, throw  cram it in
and try and wedge the drawer shut!
I got out a storage box, the paper shredder
and yes, the timer
and went to work.
Imagine my surprise when,
yep, only 15 minutes later---
I had FINISHED the dreaded drawer.
The files that needed to be saved were stored-
I had filled TWO TRASH BAGS
with shredded stuff
and chose to move on to the second and last drawer.
In less than one hour...
I had two drawers finished!
GO ME!

Flylady's system works-if you work it!
Think of it as your getting organized 12-step program!
Today,
I am up, dressed (we won't talk about the shoes...)
and ready to tackle taking down Christmas.
I am so over it and ready to move on.
So as the stuff that I put up comes down,
I will also move up into the attic
and try and declutter the tons and tons of
Christmas stuff stored up there
that we don't want/use/need
and organize, pack and store our treasures.
I will bless someone else with what's usable
and toss what isn't.
Will I get it all done today?
I doubt it.
My goal today is---
to get what's up and out gathered into one spot.
After that-who knows!
Bet it takes me 15 minutes or less---
Ready? Get set...GO~!
Until next time,
Happy flyladying to you!
Blessings,

Let's get started!

While this blog is just getting started-
and design is still in process...
I am
SO READY TO START SOARING
into 2012
that I can hardly stand it!
I am done with the Christmas thing-
It was nice. It was pretty.
It's over now.
I want it put away.
Yesterday!
That,
and I am in the clean out the clutter mood
like you wouldn't believe!

What about YOU?
Are you tired of not being able to put things away
because there's no room at the inn?
Or of spending countless hours
trying to remember
which pile/box/closet you crammed what into?
Then let's get going!
Here's the link to the site with all the solutions
to our problems
I have fluttered...
and failed.
I have, at times, soared...
and crashed and burned.
IT'S OK.
We are, as Flylady would say,
going to jump in right where we are.
Another motto-
"You can do ANYTHING...15 minutes at a time."
Yep.
I cleaned out the top half of my desk the other day...
in a mere 15 minutes!
Today I will tackle the file drawers---
that might take a few 15-minutes at a time.
BUT I CAN DO IT---
and you can, too!
Let's do it together!
Check out the link-
see what Flylady has to say...
and stay tuned here...
I promise to post the successes
as well as the pitfalls
(bound to be a few-we're human, after all!)
but together--
let's START SOARING!!!
Until next time,
happy flylady trails to you...
Blessings from this Flybaby,

Not a creature was stirring...

not even a mouse cat...
Ahhhh.....
sometimes he can be sooo good...other times, well,
not so much-but he is a male-need I say more?! lol!
This angelic looking guy
has snuck out our front door (a MAJOR NO-NO)
twice in as many days...
then the evening before last
when I brought Ms. Dolly (aka the only other female in our household...)
on a field trip
from her room to the love seat...
PC sat on my husband's lap across the room,
looked at her
and stuck his tongue out!

Too funny!
Really-he sometimes starts grooming
and "forgets" to put his tongue back in!
Give him a few minutes and he might remember---or not!
PC is very loving-but he isn't the brightest bulb on the porch!

I've not been sleeping well-so I've been stirring
at all odd early hours of the day
work has been crazy wild wide open
and I will be glad when 1:00 PM today gets here
as I am done!!!
Yesterday I ran from work
to bank to hairdresser
home to swap some Christmas presents--
while hubby was out shopping for more.
I was glad to finally get a few minutes down time...
evidently Inky was, too...

"Momma, why do you look like you're standing
on your head?"
This guy---isn't as innocent as he looks, either
because as I was sitting here posting
he was busy behind me trying to get to the Christmas tree!
I heard ornaments rattling and when I turned around-
he's sitting on the cabinet next to the tree
with his claws caught in the tree skirt
that's covering the hula hoop
that's to cover the weirdness of the holder
that's supporting the tree
(it looks like it's suspended!)
so he can't get to it
to EAT IT!
Geesh.
So I freed the cat
moved the presents,
and moved the cabinet.
One more attempt
at cat-proofing the tree!

Maybe I need to reiterate those opening lines again...
T'was the night before Christmas and all through the house
not a CREATURE was stirring---lol.
Maybe we all need just one more rum (or chocolate wine!) drink!
Until next time,
happy stamping and scrapping!
Blessings,

Under Construction....

Since 2012 is just around the corner--and I am DETERMINED to get organized in the new year-I have decided to start a new blog---OKIFlyBabyFly.  As you may or may not know, I am an avid fan of Marla Ciley,THE FLYLADY--and am a fluttering flybaby at best. But--that's going to change! She has the tricks and tools to get my wings whipped into flying shape and my thoughts atwittering in the right direction.  I want to do a number of things in 2012: get in shape/be healthier; re-enter Stephen Ministry (it will be a major chunk of time) and grow our scrapbooking and stamping group! Whew! And so what do I do? Start a SECOND BLOG! Lol. It's all good. The tools are there---and until I get more info here---just check out Marla's how-to's on the Flylady site above.  Wanna join me? Just click that "FOLLOW" button and give me the thumbs up--together-we can do ANYTHING for 15 minutes at a time! <wink>
Until next time--happy flying! Blessings, Sharon
